History
Management Resource Associates, Inc. began in 1973 as a small consulting firm (Career Development Associates) based in central New Jersey specializing in career assessment, career planning and career development. By 1976 the firm expanded its services designing and developing assessment processes and psychometric instrumentation to assist in employee selection, talent management, job analysis, training and succession planning. Early projects with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission positioned the firm to begin conducting a series of research projects designed to investigate the traits and characteristics of high performing individuals and organizations across various industries and labor segments.
By early 1978 Management Resource Associates, Inc. was providing a broad range of strategic consulting services to a host of data and telecommunication clients. The firm deliberately expanded its professional staff and began offering services that included strategic organizational design and restructuring, culture transition, executive assimilation and human performance modeling. By late 1978 the firm began expanding its presence throughout Europe by introducing services related to leadership development, change management, merger integration and customized performance management systems.
By the early 1980’s Management Resource Associates, Inc. was providing consulting services to a large number of organizations in various industries including financial services, health care, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, retail and high-tech. The firm’s innovative staffing model allowed it to provide services at exceptionally competitive rates and pass savings on to its clients. By the late 1980”s senior staff began providing consulting services to specialized educational and not-for-profit institutions, in some cases on a pro bono basis, which to this day it continues to provide.
By the mid 1990’s Management Resource Associates found itself engaged with a number of venture capital and private equity firms who sought assistance in their due diligence activities and processes. The firm developed an exceptionally unique yet standardized process and methodology to evaluate and assess an investment prospect’s management team, performance orientation, readiness for change, communications and interaction patterns, decision-making orientation, core values and various cultural dimensions related to individual and organizational performance, excellence and success.
Today Management Resource Associates, Inc. continues to work with a wide range of organizations in various life stage cycles and transitions. The firm dedicates a significant amount of time in researching and investigating various topics and issues related to leadership and organizational performance and excellence. A continued focus on Executive Coaching and Mentoring has resulted in a considerable body of literature and thought leadership on why intelligent, talented and experienced executives sometimes fail.
The firm maintains its corporate office in New York City with additional facilities in Central New Jersey and center city London.
